Domestic North American pigments sourced from the multifarious land of
Utah. It's generally true that one raw umber will look like
the next, but it's also true that most earth pigments come
from China or in some cases Cyprus unless specially specified by the
paint manufacturer. It gives us great pleasure to offer
pigments from the American West. We think these pigments have
uniquely subtle qualities that make for some interesting uses. They are
fun to mix with and predominantly semi-transparent, which makes for
good play when thinned with medium.
Utah Earth Colors are
lightfast, semi-transparent, and bound in alkali refined linseed oil.
